During his address to the World Economic Forum, Trump acknowledged the crypto industry, indicating that a surge in domestic oil and gas production will bolster U.S. manufacturing and position the nation as the “world capital of artificial intelligence and crypto.” However, despite this mention, the bulk of his speech was dedicated to artificial intelligence commitments, with digital assets receiving little additional attention.
The cryptocurrency sector will be particularly attentive to Trump’s scheduled signing of executive orders at 2:30 p.m. Eastern on Thursday. While these orders do not hold the force of law, they can be instrumental in shaping federal policy and priorities concerning cryptocurrency and digital assets.
In a notable move, Trump is also expected to engage in dialogue with El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele, a known advocate for cryptocurrency, at 3:30 p.m. This communication has already spurred a noteworthy increase in Bitcoin’s price, reflecting the market’s sensitivity to governmental discussions involving crypto.
